On Monday, Jan. 20, hundreds of community members will pay tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. during the City of Lafayette鈥檚 ninth annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March for Peace and Celebration. Planned in conjunction with the federal holiday, the event will kick-off with a community march at noon at the southwest corner of West Waneka Parkway and South Public Road.

The 麻豆影院鈥檚 Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Kelly Fox today announced that Vice Chancellor for Administration Louise Vale will retire effective March 14. 鈥淟ouise has had a distinguished career providing financial management and strategic direction to the University of Colorado for over 20 years and she will be greatly missed,鈥 Fox said. Fox has named Steve Thweatt, who is currently assistant vice chancellor for Facilities Management, as interim vice chancellor for administration starting March 15.

CU-麻豆影院 names Mark D. Gross as director of ATLAS Institute

The 麻豆影院 has named Mark D. Gross as the director of the campus Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society, or the ATLAS Institute. Gross taught at CU-麻豆影院 from 1990 to 1999 as an assistant and associate professor of architecture, planning and design. He returns to CU-麻豆影院 for the ATLAS post from Carnegie Mellon University where he has been a professor of computational design since 2004. From 1999 to 2004, Gross was a professor of architecture at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Cech named to first-ever National Commission on Forensic Science

On Jan. 10, the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Commerce鈥檚 National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced appointments to a newly created National Commission on Forensic Science. 麻豆影院 Distinguished Professor and Nobel laureate Tom Cech is one of 32 commissioners chosen from a pool of more than 300 candidates.
