CU-麻豆影院 to hold winter commencement Dec. 20

The 麻豆影院 will hold its winter commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 20, in the Coors Events Center on campus. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public. Due to traffic delays, and ongoing construction on U.S. 36 leading into 麻豆影院, early arrival is strongly advised. The ceremony will honor candidates for 1,899 degrees, including 1,399 bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 310 master鈥檚 degrees, nine law degrees and 181 doctoral degrees.

New online database charts water quality regulations related to oil and gas development

A searchable, comparative law database outlining water quality regulations for Colorado and other states experiencing shale oil and gas development is now available on LawAtlas.org. The Oil & Gas - Water Quality database project is led by the 麻豆影院鈥檚 Intermountain Oil and Gas Best Management Practices (BMP) Project in partnership with Temple University鈥檚 Public Health Law Research program and its LawAtlas.org website.

Landsat 8 helps unveil the coldest place on Earth

Scientists recently recorded the lowest temperatures on Earth at a desolate and remote ice plateau in East Antarctica, trumping a record set in 1983 and uncovering a new puzzle about the ice-covered continent. Glaciologist Ted Scambos and his team found temperatures from 鈭92 to 鈭94 degrees Celsius (鈭134 to 鈭137 degrees Fahrenheit) in a 1,000-kilometer long swath on the highest section of the East Antarctic ice divide. Scambos is lead scientist at the National Snow and Ice Data Center, which is a part of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at the 麻豆影院.
