The Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS) named聽Diane Ullman聽(EdD鈥86) Superintendent of the Year for her strong leadership and numerous contributions to the schools in her district. She also serves as adjunct professor at the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. She leads the CAPSS program for early career superintendents, is a member of the association鈥檚 board of directors and serves as chairperson of the Hartford Area Superintendents Association. She was nominated for the national superintendent of the year and lives in Simsbury, Conn.

Francis Rexford Cooley (Hist鈥87) of Plainville, Connecticut, was elected Connecticut State Representative from the 22nd District to the General Assembly. Previously, Francis worked as an educator, teaching history and art history at Paier College of Art for 23 years. He then served as a dean for 13 years before assuming the role of head of the general education department for the next 15 years.
