Hitting the Innovation Jackpot聽(iUniverse) is聽Darren McKnight鈥檚 (PhDAero鈥�86) fourth book. It emphasizes the notion that the true value of innovation is when individuals, teams and the organization are involved together. 鈥淢any of the lessons that I discuss in this book I learned while working on my doctorate at CU,鈥� he writes.听Darren lives in Centreville, Va.

Paonia, Colo., resident聽Thomas Anderson聽(MBA鈥�86) works as a project engineer at the underground Elk Creek Mine. He worked in mining construction until 1994 when he joined Elk Creek. He writes that he plans to continue working in his job for as long as possible.

This year聽Tim Tomasik聽(Jour鈥�86), a partner at Clifford Law Offices, spoke at an international aviation symposium in Shanghai, China, on 鈥�9/11 鈥� 10 Years On: What Have We Learned?鈥� He worked as liaison counsel in the property damage claims following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. He lives in Western Springs, Ill.

The Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS) named聽Diane Ullman聽(EdD鈥�86) Superintendent of the Year for her strong leadership and numerous contributions to the schools in her district. She also serves as adjunct professor at the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. She leads the CAPSS program for early career superintendents, is a member of the association鈥檚 board of directors and serves as chairperson of the Hartford Area Superintendents Association. She was nominated for the national superintendent of the year and lives in Simsbury, Conn.

In June聽Lisa Ayala-Williams聽(Mktg鈥�86) was promoted to vice president of worldwide creative services, marketing for Walt Disney Studios in California. She oversees advertising for all of Disney鈥檚 animated film entertainment in post-theatrical promotion. She was formerly director in production for WW Creative Services at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and has worked for Disney for nine years. She writes that she lives in Simi Valley, Calif., where she and her husband are huge Buff fans and have enjoyed cheering on their team closer to home with its entry into the Pac-12.

After serving six years as a marketing director for Walmart Corp.,聽David Morita聽(IntlAf鈥�86) joined Metro St. Louis, the city鈥檚 Regional Transportation District (RTD), as vice president of sales and marketing. He brings more than 20 years of experience in domestic and international advertising, sales and marketing. Prior to his time at Walmart, he served in a variety of positions at McDonald鈥檚 Corp. for more than 10 years, including senior marketing director for McDonald鈥檚 Asia Pacific.

Personal injury attorney聽Timothy Tomasik聽(Jour鈥�86) was inducted as a fellow of the International Society of Barristers. The group is an honor society of outstanding trial lawyers who are chosen by their peers based on excellence and integrity in advocacy. Tim is a partner at Clifford Law Offices in Chicago and lives in Western Springs, Ill.

In September, Chris Warner (Geog鈥�87) became the second American to summit all 14 of the world鈥檚 8,000 meter peaks 鈥� the world鈥檚 tallest mountains. Chris is a motivational speaker who uses his experiences in both mountaineering and entrepreneurship to educate people. He has contributed to two books 鈥� he wrote a chapter in Upward Bound: Nine Original Accounts of How Business Leaders Reached Their Summits and co-wrote High Altitude Leadership 鈥� and has appeared on multiple national news outlets as an expert in leadership and climbing. He lives in Denver.

Courtney聽Harris Coffee (Engl鈥�87) serves as a聽research development associate for the University of Arizona,聽specializing聽in education and diversity-focused proposals.听She wrote that helping聽individuals or teams create compelling and clear聽narratives through intensive editing is a particular聽highlight of her work. She聽lives in Tucson, Arizona.听

Gardener and photographer Barbara Colombo (Art鈥�87) released The Many Stages of Love: A Collaboration between a Grandmother and Granddaughter. The book is composed of Barb鈥檚 photographs paired with her grandmother Nilda Follini鈥檚 thoughts on love. Barb lives in 麻豆影院.

Francis Rexford Cooley (Hist鈥�87) of Plainville, Connecticut, was elected Connecticut State Representative from the 22nd District to the General Assembly. Previously, Francis worked as an educator, teaching history and art history at Paier College of Art for 23 years. He then served as a dean for 13 years before assuming the role of head of the general education department for the next 15 years.

The Wyoming chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP) honored Michael Tracy (Psych鈥�87; MD鈥�94) with the 2022 Laureate Award. The Laureate Award honors physicians who have demonstrated an abiding commitment to excellence in medical care, education or research in service to their community, chapter and the ACP. A former governor of the Wyoming ACP, Michael has practiced internal medicine and pediatrics in Powell, Wyoming, since 2002 and enjoys collaborating with colleagues and teaching medical students.

After serving as executive vice president at Colliers International, Steven Kohn (Fin鈥�87) accepted a position as principal at Avison Young in Chicago. Steven focuses on lease negotiations, acquisitions and dispositions and landlord and tenant representation. He was also named to the USA Maccabi Masters Hockey team for the second time, where he will be one of 1,100 Jewish athletes representing the U.S. Maccabi USA connects the Jewish community and builds pride through sports. Steven resides in Glencoe, Illinois.

For the 16th year in a row, Jeanette Meyer (MBA) has been granted the highest level of service achievement in the real estate industry. This award recognizes her achievement of 100% client service satisfaction in 2020.
