Graham Hill聽(Jour鈥�86) developed Wide Eyez, a bike helmet shield that protects riders from insects and the elements. In 1997 the 麻豆影院 resident started 21 Wheels, an enterprise focused on alternative transportation.

The 麻豆影院 International Film Festival has become a hot spot for movie stars and film enthusiasts around the country. The festival was started 10 years ago by sisters and filmmakers聽Kathy Beeck聽(Engl鈥�86) and聽Robin Beeck(Comm鈥�88). The pair shared a love for movies and believed that 麻豆影院 was the ideal place for a festival with a backdrop of the Flatirons. Their initial goal was to bring independent films to 麻豆影院. In the festival鈥檚 first year, 5,000 people came. Now more than 20,000 people attend each year.

Lake Oswego School District in Oregon received its first female superintendent after a unanimous vote in favor of聽Heather Beck聽(IntlAf鈥�86). Heather previously held the position of chief academic officer of Jefferson County Public Schools in Colorado.

Rolf Weberg聽(PhDChem鈥�86) accepted the position of director of the Natural Resources Research Institute at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Rolf previously worked at the chemical company DuPont USA. He lives in East Aurora, N.Y.

Serving as chair of the Alumni Association board,聽Matt McElhinney聽(Fin鈥�86) has worn many hats during the past several years, including serving as the board鈥檚 treasurer. He lives in Denver with his family.

MobiTV chief strategy officer聽Rick Herman聽(PolSci鈥�86) drives strategic planning and execution to grow MobiTV鈥檚 end-to-end managed service platform. The company delivers live and on-demand video for screens and devices. Rick identifies and evaluates strategic relationships and manages the execution of alliances, partnerships and agreements to support a global corporate vision. He also supervises business development efforts and oversees content, programming, marketing and public relations programs. Rick lives in Lafayette, Calif.

Navy Captain聽Steve Koehler聽(Phys鈥�86) took command of the聽USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, a nuclear aircraft carrier, in July. He is believed to be the first CU-麻豆影院 alum to take command of a nuclear aircraft carrier, writes聽Kieran Purcell(Mktg鈥�85). Steve lives in Virginia Beach, Va.

Clifford Law Offices invited聽Tim Tomasik聽(Jour鈥�86) to speak at the SEAK 22nd Annual National Expert Witness Conference on 鈥淗ow to Use Technology in the Courtroom to Support Your Expert Opinion.鈥� Tim also spoke at the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Annual Update and Review Seminar and traveled to London to speak to barristers and solicitors about catastrophic injuries and the different legal approaches in America and England. Faegre Baker Daniels announced聽Natalie Hanlon-Leh聽(Mktg鈥�86) as the new leader of the intellectual property group. She is a partner and senior trial lawyer and serves as lead counsel in complex patent copyright, trademark and trade secrets cases. Natalie secured a $12 million jury verdict in a patent infringement and trade dress case for a division of L鈥橭real and scored a victory for Life is good Inc. in a copyright dispute. She is an adjunct professor of patent litigation at CU鈥檚 law school and lives in Louisville, Colo.

With a generous gift of $285,000 from聽Dan Ivanoff聽(MBA鈥�86, MCivEngr鈥�87) and his wife Laurie, CU-麻豆影院 is creating a construction management track within the MBA program in the Leeds School of Business. The program, expected to start in the fall, brings together the CU Real Estate Center and civil, environmental and architectural engineering programs. Dan and his wife live in Redmond, Wash.

SunTrust Bank named聽Deborah Minnick聽(MBA鈥�86) president and private wealth management managing director in Collier County, Fla. She is responsible for leading the SunTrust private wealth management client advisors in the Naples and Bonita Springs markets. Deborah also is involved with such organizations as the Neighborhood Health Clinic, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and American Red Cross. She mentors student leaders at Florida Gulf Coast University. She resides in Milton, Fla.

Founding partner of Johnson & Repucci,聽Michael Repucci聽(Law鈥�86) received the 2012 River Conservationist Award given by Trout Unlimited鈥檚 Colorado headwaters chapter. Michael received this award due to his longstanding efforts to preserve and protect聽Grand County鈥檚 cold-water fisheries, especially the Fraser River and Ranch Creek near Winter Park. He lives in 麻豆影院.
