CU-Â鶹ӰԺ to host prescription drug Take-Back Initiative on April 28

CUPD news release On Saturday, April 28, the Â鶹ӰԺ will host a National Take-Back Initiative in hopes that pill abuse and theft will be reduced by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired and unwanted prescription drugs. The Wardenburg Health Center, Counseling and Psychological Services and the CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Police Department will host a prescription drug collection site in support of the National Take-Back Initiative for prescription drugs.

Two CU student teams among top winners in international math modeling competition

Two Â鶹ӰԺ undergraduate student teams have been named among the 10 top winners from a field of 3,697 teams that entered the international Mathematical Contest in Modeling. Results of the 2012 contest were announced this month by the Consortium for Mathematics and its Applications. The contest took place at the students’ home institutions Feb. 9-13.

CU student inventions to be demonstrated at April 28 Engineering Design Expo

Student-built devices ranging from innovative new products to adaptive technology for people with disabilities will be among more than 60 student inventions showcased at the Â鶹ӰԺ’s Engineering Design Expo on Saturday, April 28. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the Integrated Teaching and Learning Laboratory on Regent Drive south of Colorado Avenue. Projects will be exhibited both indoors and outdoors on the Herbst Plaza.

The president will be speaking in the Coors Events Center at approximately 6:00 p.m. The event is free and, while focused on students, is also open to faculty, staff and members of the general public. All persons, including children of any age, must have a ticket for admission into the event.

The Â鶹ӰԺ may restrict non-affiliates from entering the campus on April 20, a Â鶹ӰԺ District Court judge ruled today. Judge Andrew Macdonald upheld CU’s plans to restrict entry to the Â鶹ӰԺ campus and to the Norlin Quad area.
