R&B artist Gallant to help kick off Homecoming week with Oct. 12 concert

R&B artist Gallant will headline this year's Homecoming concert on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom. The concert is just one of many events and activities happening during Homecoming week. Tickets will be $5 for CU students and $10 for the public.

CU Student Government and the Center for Student Involvement is hosting a watch party for the second presidential debate on Sunday, Oct. 9, 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event will take place in Glenn Miller Ballroom. The debate runs from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will be tons of tasty food and beverages so come join your fellow students in watching the debate.

OIT wants to hear about your online experience

Yeast gene rapidly evolves to attack viruses, researchers find

A gene in a type of yeast that has long been used in baking, brewing and winemaking may have positive implications for human health. Essentially, the gene in the ingested yeast can recognize and destroy attacking viruses within the human host.

Over 52 studio doors will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Visual Arts Complex, as part of the Â鶹ӰԺ Open Studios Program. From 5 to 7 p.m. the CU Art Museum will celebrate the work of Â鶹ӰԺ-based artist Ana Maria Hernando as part of their First Thursday program.

Texas college system sends text alerts to some CU Â鶹ӰԺ affiliates

After receiving several reports of a non-CU text alert received by some affiliates yesterday, campus officials began an investigation with the vendor that provides our text alert system, RAVE Mobile Safety. Searches in social media further revealed that the same message was being received by affiliates at many universities across the United States.
