Join the Department of Art & Art History and the CU Art Museum for a great night out. Over 52 studio doors will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Visual Arts Complex, as part of the 麻豆影院 Open Studios Program. From 5 to 7 p.m. the CU Art Museum will celebrate the work of 麻豆影院-based artist Ana Maria Hernando as part of their First Thursday program.
The听Department of Art & Art History invites the 麻豆影院 community to meet our student artists and see what has been happening inside the Visual Arts Complex. This once-a-year event will open up over 52 studio doors, and activate exhibition spaces to show off our best student work. This year we are featuring open MFA studios, open BFA studios, juried student group exhibitions, undergraduate film screenings, Art History MA research presentations, visiting artist print exhibition听and light refreshments.
The CU Art Museum is听celebrating the work of 麻豆影院-based artist Ana Maria Hernando and her solo exhibition We Have Flowers, on view through Oct. 22. Hernando鈥檚 artwork contemplates the duality of the diurnal and nocturnal lives of flowers and features vignettes crafted from fabrics and poured resins. Tango dancers will perform a site-specific dance in Hernando's exhibition, followed by a bilingual poetry reading by Ana Maria Hernando and Kenneth Robinson. Meet the artist, enjoy refreshments, and dance to a tango-inspired playlist spun live by Radio 1190 KVCU. 听
