Family Weekend holds special meaning for CU senior Alex Kelley

For most students, Family Weekend at the University of Colorado will involve some variation of a similar pattern: breakfast at one of their favorite local hangouts, a sightseeing drive, then a trip to Folsom Field in time for Saturday’s 12:30 Buffs game against visiting Oregon State. But that’s not how CU senior Alex Kelley’s day will go.

Colorado business confidence expected to decrease, then tick up in 2017

Elizabeth Koebele, a doctoral candidate in the Environmental Studies Program, was one of only 19 award winners from 535 applications for the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy grant. Fall 2016 CU Â鶹ӰԺ Alerts test is Oct. 5

The campus will conduct a test of the CU Â鶹ӰԺ Alerts system on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at noon to raise awareness of how the campus community will be notified in case of a campus emergency. The test will include text messages, emails, social media and website announcements. Annual testing of emergency notification systems is required by the Clery Act, a federal law.

In the Oct. 5 LASP public lecture, LASP scientist Frank Eparvier will give an overview of space weather, how it affects everything from GPS to satellite navigation and power grids, and the exciting capabilities for real-time space weather monitoring onboard the new series of NOAA GOES-R satellites. The first satellite in this series, with the LASP-built EXIS on-board, is slated to launch on Nov. 4.

CU Â鶹ӰԺ this week celebrates the Denver Scholarship Foundation's Tenth Anniversary Gala alongside nearly 700 community leaders. This is where the majority of scholarship funds are raised. Last year alone, more than $388,000 in scholarship dollars were provided to DSF Scholars who attended CU Â鶹ӰԺ.
