CU-Â鶹ӰԺ cheers faculty and staff giving to the university

Two hundred Â鶹ӰԺ campus faculty, staff and fundraisers— most of whom make financial gifts to the University of Colorado—gathered Friday at Chancellor Philip DiStefano’s home for a late afternoon reception to celebrate faculty and staff. They heard remarks from campus and fundraising leadership, supporters including Pat Furman ('76, JD '80) and Tate Nelson ('92), and Arts & Sciences student Anne Stuller ('14). DiStefano recognized donors who have made planned gifts such as real estate, which can help CU now and in the future. He also mentioned the Esteemed Scholars Program—a new initiative that awards scholarships to top Colorado high school students who choose to attend the Â鶹ӰԺ.

CU-Â鶹ӰԺ ranked No. 14 worldwide for scholarly impact of journal publications

The Â鶹ӰԺ has been ranked No. 14 in the world on the scholarly impact of its journal publications, according to an analysis by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands. The Leiden Ranking analyzed the 500 universities with the largest number of publications recorded in Web of Science, a database of articles published in more than 12,000 journals that is maintained by Thomson Reuters.

Long Bill approves merit, COLA increases for classified employees

On Monday, April 29, 2013 the Governor signed Senate Bill 13-230, commonly referred to as the FY 2013-2014 budget bill, or Long Bill. According to this bill, classified employees are eligible for a 2% cost of living increase (COLA), a performance based merit increase (based on a 1.6% pool), and an additional increase if an employee’s new salary (after the COLA and merit increases are applied) falls below the new minimum salary for their job class.

Ed School graduate to continue equitable education research at Indiana U.

Armed with a master’s degree and a doctorate from CU-Â鶹ӰԺ, Subini Annamma will head to Indiana University at Indianapolis after graduation. There she will teach and continue her research on increasing access to equitable education for marginalized students and urban communities, particularly for children with disabilities.
