Researchers take new look at future Colorado River flows

NSF Faculty Early Career Development, or CAREER, Awards recognize talented young faculty members with grants to support outstanding research projects and to encourage the integration of teaching and research.

DiStefano names search committee for new CU-Â鶹ӰԺ athletic department director

Â鶹ӰԺ Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano today announced the formation of a search committee to find a new director of intercollegiate athletics. CU Athletic Director Mike Bohn resigned from the post as AD effective June 3, 2013.

June 20 Board of Regents meeting: Regents call for survey of diversity climate

The University of Colorado Board of Regents today called for a survey of the climate of diversity on CU campuses, voting 8-0 after a lengthy discussion that focused on CU-Â鶹ӰԺ. During the meeting at the UMC, current and past faculty members from CU-Â鶹ӰԺ made comments to the board about personal experience and perspectives largely regarding political tolerance, a topic that’s the key element of the resolution, introduced by Regents James Geddes, R-Sedalia, and Sue Sharkey, R-Windsor.

CIRES, NOAA team leads investigation of Southeast air quality, climate questions

Many photographs of the Southeast’s Smoky Mountains show layers of tall hills, shading to purples and grays in the distance. Tiny particles in the atmosphere help create the effect, which makes for stunning pictures. But human-caused enhancements of those fine particles also contribute to poor air quality in the Southeastern U.S., and may help explain why the region has not warmed like the rest of the nation.
