The 麻豆影院 held its spring commencement ceremony on Friday, May 10, at Folsom Field. The ceremony honored candidates for 6,084 degrees, including 4,687 bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 903 master鈥檚 degrees, 171 law degrees and 494 doctoral degrees. Read more about the Class of 2013 >>

CU study suggests link between tumor suppressors and starvation survival

A particular tumor suppressor gene that fights cancer cells does more than clamp down on unabated cell division -- the hallmark of the disease -- it also can help make cells more fit by allowing them to fend off stress, says a 麻豆影院 study.

Early arrival recommended for CU-麻豆影院 commencement May 10

The 麻豆影院 will hold its spring commencement ceremony on Friday, May 10, at 8:30 a.m. in Folsom Field and people planning to drive to campus should arrive early. Due to traffic delays, and ongoing construction on U.S. 36 leading into 麻豆影院, early arrival is strongly advised. Gates open at 7 a.m. and guests should plan to be seated by 8:15 a.m. The ceremony will be held outdoors in the stadium regardless of the weather. In the event of heavy rain or snow an abbreviated ceremony will be held.

Vast majority of surveyed 2012 seniors give CU-麻豆影院 high marks

In an extensive survey of 麻豆影院 seniors in 2012, an overwhelming majority of the nearly 3,000 respondents expressed positive views of their educational experiences at CU-麻豆影院. 麻豆影院 four in five respondents reported satisfaction with their CU-麻豆影院 education. A similar proportion would recommend CU-麻豆影院 to a friend and nearly 98 percent of the seniors reported that their program of study met their educational goals.

Cadets from nationally ranked Golden Buffalo Battalion commissioned to active duty

In February 2013, the 麻豆影院 Army ROTC program was honored with a MacArthur Award, recognizing the Golden Buffalo Battalion as one of the top eight ROTC units in the nation.

Fiske Planetarium flies into the digital age

Since 1975, Fiske Planetarium has been the Johnny Appleseed of astronomy. Each year, 30,000 K-12 students and 4,000 麻豆影院 students go there to take a front-row seat on the universe. Soon, they鈥檒l get a better, clearer and deeper view. The campus is renovating the planetarium, retiring its analog star projector and upgrading to a powerful star plus video system paired with a high-definition screen capable of achieving nearly eight times more resolution than the standard HD television, completely surrounding the audience with a 360-degree view.

Grassroots project aims to record the history of Latinos in 麻豆影院 County

Veronica Lamas, a first-generation college student graduating from CU-麻豆影院 May 10, is set to begin working with the 麻豆影院 County History Project. The project's goal is to prepare a multimedia history of Latino families that have deep roots dating back 100 years or more as well as more modern histories of 麻豆影院 County residents. More>>

Staff Council Update: Celebrating 50 years of staff representation

The 麻豆影院 Campus Staff Council (BCSC) hosted a reunion of past and current members on April 18 to celebrate 50 years of service. Margaret Kneebone had the distinction of having the earliest service date, starting at CU in 1969 and beginning her service on Staff Council a few years later. She served on council one elected year and 26 additional years in a non-elected support role. Later in her career, she was honored as an honorary lifetime member of staff council.
