The College of Engineering and Applied Science has opened a search for a new Assistant Dean for Inclusive Excellence to join the college's leadership team. The Assistant Dean for Inclusive Excellence provides vision and leadership for the recruitment, retention and success of outstanding and diverse students, faculty and staff. The position leads the Broadening Opportunity through Leadership and Diversity (BOLD) Center, including initiatives to build the pipeline of students with interest and preparation for engineering study and careers, and initiatives to improve student performance and graduation rates.

CU awarded $3.6 million for new way to produce magnesium for auto parts

A 麻豆影院 professor has been awarded a three-year, $3.6 million grant from the Energy Department鈥檚 Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop a new process to produce magnesium that can be used to make lightweight vehicle parts.

Michio Kaku, a prominent theoretical physicist and two-time New York Times best-selling author will be speak on Thursday, Oct. 3, at CU-麻豆影院鈥檚 Macky Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. and Kaku will begin his speech at 7:30 p.m.

Regents vote to expand anti-discrimination policy

Protection for diverse expression of political philosophy, as well as gender identity and gender expression, now are included in the CU Board of Regents鈥 anti-discrimination policy. At its Tuesday meeting at the University Memorial Center on the CU-麻豆影院 campus, the board voted unanimously for the changes to the Laws of the Regents, Article 10, and Regent Policy 1.C.2.

Solid-state battery developed at CU-麻豆影院 could double the range of electric cars

A cutting-edge battery technology developed at the 麻豆影院 that could allow tomorrow鈥檚 electric vehicles to travel twice as far on a charge is now closer to becoming a commercial reality. CU鈥檚 Technology Transfer Office has completed an agreement with Solid Power LLC鈥攁 CU-麻豆影院 spinoff company founded by Se-Hee Lee and Conrad Stoldt, both associate professors of mechanical engineering鈥攆or the development and commercialization of an innovative solid-state rechargeable battery.
