Not-your-average writing conference invites community participation

The Program for Writing and Rhetoric at the Â鶹ӰԺ is hosting the first ever "Conference on Community Writing – Building Engaged Infrastructure" from Oct. 15 to 17 at the University Memorial Center. But this isn’t your run-of-the mill academic conference. The conference will consist of presentations, dialogues, workshops and DeepThink Tanks.

A stampede, parade and pep rally are in store for the Â鶹ӰԺ community beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16 -- part of the Â鶹ӰԺ Homecoming celebrations that will enliven the city throughout the weekend. New this year, which marks CU-Â鶹ӰԺ’s 101st Homecoming, the parade is being combined with the stampede and moving from Â鶹ӰԺ’s University Hill to Pearl Street.

CUPD dispatch now accepting 911 text messages

Both the general public and local officials wondered just how unusual this rainfall and flooding had been. Had something like it happened before? Was anthropogenic (human-caused) climate change responsible?
