Qubit 4.0 Fluorometer
Analysts interested in quantifying the total amount of DNA, RNA, or protein in a sample for molecular analyses should consider using the Thermo Scientific Qubit 4.0 Fluorometer. Knowing the amount of DNA, RNA, or protein in a sample is important for adding the same amount of genetic material between subsequent experiments and knowing if there is enough or too much DNA to perform analyses like next generation sequencing, genotyping, RNA analyses, or quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). The Qubit 4.0 Fluorometer uses the addition of buffers and dyes to bind and fluoresce genetic material in samples. The Qubit 4.0 Fluorometer then measures the fluorescence intensity of each sample. DNA, RNA, and protein concentrations are determined by comparing the sample fluorescence to a set of standards’ fluorescence.
