University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ Professor Bernard Amadei has been awarded the American Association of Engineering Societies' Norm Augustine Award in recognition of his passion and commitment to training globally responsible engineering students. Amadei is the founding president of Engineers Without Borders-USA, a nonprofit organization that partners with developing communities to meet their needs for water, sanitation and energy systems.

Local businesses will have an easier time tapping into the innovative ideas of Leeds School of Business students and faculty, thanks to a new center being established by the University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ. The Center for Business Integration is being created to connect students and faculty from the systems division with local businesses looking for help with some of their toughest problems. James Marlatt, a Leeds School of Business senior instructor and former Arthur Andersen partner, will direct the center.

New Student Orientation Revamped At CU-Â鶹ӰԺ

Incoming freshmen and transfer students and their parents will encounter a much-changed program at the University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ when they arrive on campus from June through August for New Student Orientation. Changes have been implemented in a variety of areas to bolster existing sessions, such as the interactive theater workshop, with new ones that fill in gaps and respond to changing campus issues, according to Jim Davis Rosenthal, director of orientation and Ralphie's Resource Center.

Prospective College Students To Sharpen Business Skills At CU-Â鶹ӰԺ June 19-25

High school juniors from throughout Colorado will sharpen their business skills and get a taste of college life during a weeklong University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ program on campus June 19-25. The 30 students will take part in the Business Leadership Program, sponsored by CU-Â鶹ӰԺ's Leeds School of Business Diversity Office. Participating students are prospective first-generation college students whose parents did not attend college, students who are economically disadvantaged or students who are members of underrepresented groups at CU-Â鶹ӰԺ.
