Chancellor DiStefano today announced that CU-麻豆影院 has hired education and civil rights lawyer Valerie Simons to serve as the director of institutional equity and compliance, effective July 22. The newly created position, which includes the role of Title IX coordinator for the campus, reports directly to DiStefano and has campuswide oversight for all complaints of discrimination, which are currently investigated through both the Office of Student Conduct and the Office of Discrimination and Harassment.

Bradley J. Birzer has been appointed the second Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy, the 麻豆影院 announced today. Birzer, a professor of history and the Russell Amos Kirk Chair in American Studies at Hillsdale College in Michigan, will begin his one-year appointment beginning in fall 2014. 鈥淒r. Birzer brings impressive breadth to CU, primarily in the discipline of history as well as areas of literary significance,鈥� said Steven R. Leigh, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at CU-麻豆影院.
