The Office of International Education (OIE) is seeking applications for its Global Citizen Awards, which honor and recognize outstanding contributions to international understanding by members of the CU 麻豆影院 community.

Summer Session provides an important academic opportunity for students and faculty. More than 7,500 students take Summer Session courses each year and about 95 percent of the students are in CU 麻豆影院 degree programs. You鈥檝e seen 鈥淭he Amazing Race,鈥� now you have a chance to compete in CU鈥檚 Amazing Race. Grab a friend to compete in physical and mental challenges on and around the CU 麻豆影院 campus. The winning team gets $1,000, half of which goes to a student group on campus.

CU Presents鈥� 80th-anniversary Artist Series kicks off with a desert-inspired dance performance by MOMIX, a company famous for its astounding creativity and stunning visual tricks. The company, an Artist Series favorite, is back by popular demand with a 麻豆影院 premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2.

Every now and then you hear the question: Do intercollegiate athletic programs belong in higher education? Earlier this month several staff members in our athletic department addressed this question as we looked ahead to the next three years in forming our strategic plan.

With Family Weekend quickly approaching, many students may be getting a campus visit. It is a great opportunity to show parents, guardians or friends around and to update them on how school is going.

This Friday, members of the campus community are invited to join Chancellor DiStefano and Provost Moore for the annual presentation of CU 麻豆影院 faculty awards and the introduction of faculty members receiving tenure and promotion. The ceremony will be preceded by two programs earlier in the day, hosted in collaboration with Family Weekend.

Professor McKell Carter studies how social information influences the decisions people make, as well as how people predict others' behaviors. His expertise will be part of a French documentary that delves into the minds of world-class poker players.

During Family Weekend on Sept. 30, faculty from the College of Media, Communication and Information will analyze this historic and controversial presidential campaign 鈥� from journalism, advertising and data analytics perspectives 鈥� which features candidates who have the highest negative ratings of any contenders in recent history.
