Indirect Cost (F&A) Addendum

If a sponsor has a policy that limits Indirect Costs (IDC/F&A) for a sponsored project, the Â鶹ӰԺ requires an Indirect Cost Addendum Form, in accordance with the Â鶹ӰԺ's Indirect Cost (F&A) Recovery Policy Statement.Indirect Cost Addendums require approval from the Department Chair or Institute Director, as well as the Associate Dean for Research. The Principal Investigator (PI) should include strong justification of the proposal to support the approval of the addendum. Your Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG) Proposal Analyst can assist with completing the addendum.

For a federal proposal, OCG will apply the limited IDC to the Modified Total Direct Costs base, unless otherwise specified by the sponsor.

For an industry proposal, OCG will apply the limited IDC to the Total Direct Costs base, unless otherwise specified by the sponsor.

If the PI requests reduced indirect costs, CU’s Indirect Cost (F&A) Waivers and Reductions Procedural Statement applies.
