Access the Online PSR Form
  • Click on the Â鶹ӰԺ eRA Login button. 
  • Select Â鶹ӰԺ from the campus drop-down menu.
  • Enter your IdentiKey and Password. Click Log in.
  • Click Sponsored Projects in the left-side menu on the Home page.
  • Click Create New Proposal Submission Request (PSR) Form when the screen refreshes.

What is the online PSR form?

The Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG), in conjunction with infoEd and our campus Office of Information Technology (OIT) team, has built out the utilization of infoEd for completing the Proposal Submission Request (PSR) form and submitting it to the designated Proposal Analyst through the system rather than using the PDF form. This creates a dynamic online submission version of the PSR form.

  • By January 16, 2024, all Proposal Submission Request (PSR) forms will be completed through the Online PSR in infoEd and the PDF version will no longer be accepted.
  • The Online PSR form was rolled out incrementally with a few pilot departments. Pilot departments have been using the online PSR since May 2023. The pilot departments are Biofrontiers, College of Media, Communication & Information, Chemical & Biological Engineering, Institute of Cognitive Science, and Geological Sciences.
  • Provides a secure, responsive form with conditional questions, which will shorten the form for many PIs.
  • Provides an option for the PI to upload a draft budget, the funding opportunity announcement, scope of work, and other documents as part of the PSR submission to help reduce emails.
  • Allows multiple users to work on a record together. The system will also validate that all required fields have been completed and direct the user to any missing information on the page.
  • Allows for electronic approval of the PSR without the need for additional steps to sign the form through Adobe Acrobat or DocuSign and then email the form. This is possible because individual PSR submitters are logged into the system with their CU Â鶹ӰԺ identikey credentials.
  • Once all questions are complete and compliance assurances are met, the form will automatically select the PI’s assigned OCG Proposal Analyst based on the department org and routed the PSR electronically to them.
  • Provides system delegation for research administrators supporting PIs in the department to contribute to the completion of the PSR form.

Department Guidance to the Online PSR in InfoEd

  1. STEP 1

    Login to eRA (infoEd)

    To start a new PSR, you must login to the Â鶹ӰԺ eRA (infoEd) with your CU Â鶹ӰԺ identikey credentials.

    Choose the Â鶹ӰԺ campus from the dropdown.

    Enter your identikey credentials.

    You will be directed to the main landing page for Â鶹ӰԺ eRA in infoEd.

  2. STEP 2

    Select Sponsored Projects - Left Side Navigation

    Once you click on Sponsored Projects, you will see and select Create New Proposal Submission Request (PSR).

  3. STEP 3

    First PSR Pop Up - Key Information

    The initial pop up window asks for key information that will populate into the PSR form and can be edited before PSR submission.

    PI Name - your name will populate along with your org information based on your identikey credentials. If creating a record for someone other than yourself, begin typing the last name of the intended Principal Investigator. Profiles matching the typed details will display. Select the appropriate profile.

    Proposal Type - Defaults to New. Change selection if proposal is Supplement, Continuation, or Resubmission.

    Sponsor Name - Begin typing in the sponsor name. Sponsors in the infoEd database matching the typed details will display. Select the appropriate sponsor. If sponsor can not be located, type “Default Sponsor.

    Project Title - Type the title for the intended submission.

    Project Dates - Enter the start and end dates for the intended project.

    Create Proposal - Select the create proposal button in the small outline box at the bottom of the popup. Record is not initiated until this step is complete.

  4. STEP 4

    Instructions Page & Setup Questions

    Here you will find some important tips for completing the PSR. At the bottom of this page there is a General Proposal Properties section that requires completion before the rest of the PSR displays.

    Two questions related to Human and Animal subjects will need to be answered. Your answers to these questions will determine if additional questions are required later in the PSR related to human subjects and laboratory animals.

    For Associated Departments, the primary department will determine which Proposal Analyst the PSR routes to. If it needs to be changed or if additional departments are associated with the submission, you can add departments by searching the org codes in the popup window. When multiple org codes are associated with the record, the radio icon will indicate the primary org code. Departments indicated that are not affiliated with the submission can be removed.

    Once you have read this page and answered the prompts, click Save and Continue in the small outlined box at that bottom of the window.

  5. STEP 5

    PSR Form Sections

    Continue to complete all of the sections of the PSR form. Each section has a tab in the left side (dark grey) navigation. The PSR does not need to be completed chronologically, entered data will be auto saved by the system. All section tabs must be marked completed before you can Build and Submit PSR.

      Key Tip

    On the right side of the screen for each section (i.e. Budget & Project Info, Compliance, etc.) is a checkbox next to Complete. This checkbox must be checked to validate that all required questions have been completed. When you have completed a page fully, a checkmark will appear to the left of the tab title.

     

  6. STEP 6

    Build and Submit PSR

    Once all PSR Form Sections have been completed, the following steps will need to be completed to route the PSR for PI certifications and OCG receipt.

    Build – Select the Build button to generate the PSR document.

    Submit Final Review – Click the 'thumbs up' icon on the lower right of the page to initiate PSR submission.

    Submitter Certifications –  Accept the submitter certification in the popup window and click continue button.

    Confirm Route – Check to confirm that the Proposal Analyst indicated in the route is correct. If route path is correct, select Submit. If route path is incorrect, the window can be closed to verify the Primary Associated Department on the Instructions page. Build and Submit steps would need to be recompleted.

    Submitted – Your PSR has been completed and submitted. The Proposal number in the top right corner will be used for all OCG actions associated with this project. Please coordinate with your proposal analysts for remaining proposal development actions. The PSR record can be closed by clicking the Done button on top left of the window.
