- Wear sunblock, sunglasses, a hat and UV protected clothing.
- Low humidity means that your skin will feel dry and may become irritated. If dry, apply moisturizer to your skin and use lip balm for dry lips.

Rocky Mountain Winters
Winter can be a difficult season if you come from a warm climate. Here are a few tips to stay safe and healthy during winter.
- Drink lots of water.
- Check the day’s temperature before going outside. A blue sky can look warm, but the air can still be very cold; wind is common.
- On cold days, dress in layers.
- Wear boots that have grip or add traction devices to shoes to prevent slipping on ice.
- Avoid ‘cabin fever,’ the feeling of being stuck in one place for a long period of time. Tips include:
- Study or do homework in a different location other than your room.
- Meet up for board game nights or cook a meal with friends.
- Talk to family on the phone or through video chat.
- Exercise or go for a walk.
- Attend a concert or visit an art gallery.
- If you are feeling lonely, consider the Let’s Talk drop in session at The Rec or visit with Counseling and Psychiatric Services.
