Human Rights-Based Climate Solutions
Right Here, Right Now is the time to put words into action. To implement climate solutions, we must work together鈥攎eaning international, multistakeholder action at all levels. This is key to us solving humanity鈥檚 biggest challenge.
The Right Here, Right Now Global Climate Summit works toward this approach. The summit convened experts from around the world to collectively establish climate solutions for all levels of civil society.
Positive change can, and will, come鈥攂ecause the solutions are within us.
Climate-Positive Goals
For us to overcome the climate crisis and implement effective, human rights-based solutions, we must use four main building blocks.
Efforts that reduce greenhouse gas emissions from human activities
Measures that are participatory, gender-responsive, adequately resourced, reduce vulnerability and build resilience of people and communities most affected by climate change
Cooperation in technology transfer, financing, judicial and redress mechanisms
Strengthened Accountability Mechanisms
Periodic revision and renewal of nationally determined contributions, creating a window of opportunity to promote human rights policy coherence
