Math & Science Sequence
Mathematics and science courses provide the foundation upon which you build your engineering disciplinary knowledge.
Engineering EAC ABET-accredited programs include a minimum of 30 semester credit hours of a combination of college-level mathematics and basic sciences with experimental experience appropriate to the program.
Typically this involves 16 credits of mathematics courses:
- APPM 1350-4Â Â Calculus 1 for Engineers
- APPM 1360-4Â Â Calculus 2 for Engineers
- APPM 2350-4Â Â Calculus 3 for Engineers
- APPM 2360-4Â Â Differential Equations with Linear Algebra
There is greater variability in the science course selections by major, but they might look something like:
- PHYS 1110-4Â Â General Physics 1
- PHYS 1120-4Â Â General Physics 2
- PHYS 1140-1Â Â Experimental Physics 1
- CHEN 1201-4, CHEN-1203-2, or CHEN 1211-4Â Â Chemistry for Engineers
- CHEM 1221-1Â Â Chemistry for Engineers Lab
- Biology course
