°Â°ù¾±³Ù±ð°ùÌýAndrea Jones’ (Engl’88) book Between Urban and Wild: Reflections from Colorado describes what it is like to have her house built in the wild and gives practical tips on how to be safe in unknown territory. She is the owner of Jones Literary Services, which creates back-of-the-book indexes for authors and publishers. Andrea and her husband live in Colorado and have two horses.

MGMA-ACMPE, the largest membership association for U.S. medical practice executives and administrators, named Garth Jordan (Chem’88) chief operating officer. He oversees the general operations and strategic planning for the company. Garth lives in Denver.

Chuck Kostalnick (Econ’88) was appointed executive vice president and chief business officer of Sanmina Corporation, a manufacturing solutions company. Chuck, who has more than 23 years of sales and marketing management experience, provides leadership and strategic direction. He lives in Livermore, Calif.

After serving as chief counselor and director general of investment at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency, Khalid Alsweilem (PhDEcon’89) was appointed a non-resident fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. He will focus on the study of sovereign wealth funds, in particular Saudi Arabia’s reserve sovereign funds. Khalid lives in Houston.

Former CU football head coach Jon Embree (Comm’89) was selected as tight ends coach by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was the Buffs’ head coach from 2011-12 and most recently served as the tight ends coach for the Cleveland Browns.

Katerina A. Anadiotis (Engl, Fren’90, Law’93) has published two bilingual books, Justina Ford, Baby Doctor/Justina Ford, La doctora de los bebésÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýThe Five Senses/Los 5 sentidos. Her hope is that the books will help expand resources for children and teachers in bilingual, Spanish-immersion and dual-language classrooms. Mike Soucie (Mktg’90), co-founder of Â鶹ӰԺ-based firm Revolv, helped create a device that syncs with a smartphone app and allows users to control lights, locks, thermostats and other aspects of their homes.

Todd Gilchrist (ElEngr’91), a 22-year Navy veteran, took a financial advisor position with Illinois firm Preferred Panning Concepts. During numerous tours as a naval aviator, he traveled the country and world. His final tour of duty was as commanding officer of a helicopter squadron. Todd and his wife, Stacey Baca (Jour’91), split their time between Colorado and Chicago.

Peter Hommeyer (Econ’92) was hired as product specialist for Whitebox Advisors, an asset management company in Minneapolis. He has more than 20 years of investment industry experience and  will focus on improving investor experience.

The CU-Â鶹ӰԺ International Film Series, run by Pablo Kjolseth (Hum’92), went digital this fall. Pablo says he waited as long as he could before using digitized film but he had to keep up with the rapidly evolving industry. The series has not abandoned 35mm films however. Catalent Pharma Solutions appointed Jennifer Mitcham (PhDMCDBio’92) as director of business development for antibody-drug conjugates in biologics. She did her postdoctoral research at Immunex Corp and received her bachelor’s in biochemistry and biophysics from Texas A&M.

As the principal and managing partner with Baker, McEvoy, Morrisey & Moskovits in New York, Colin Morrissey (Engl, Phil’92) handles a lot of cases with cab drivers in personal injury civil suits. He advises Buffs to look twice before crossing the road when visiting New York and to wear their seatbelts. His wife, Amy Eisenberg-Morrissey(Comm’92), is a full-time mom to their two daughters, Julia and Layla. The family lives in Long Island, N.Y.

Freelance adventure and travel writer Avery Stonich (EnvCon’92) has traveled to more than 40 countries, but Â鶹ӰԺ remains a favorite place. She has lived in the city for 26 years and wrote a story for National Geographic Travel describing her favorite aspects of it.

With more than 20 years of experience in structural design, construction, phase services and project management, Allen Thompson (ArchEngr’92) was appointed vice president of the construction support services practice at Thornton Tomasetti, an international engineering firm. Allen will work in the company’s Denver office.

Global investment manager INTECH Investment appointed Richard Yasenchak (Mktg’92) client portfolio manager in West Palm Beach, Fla. In this role he serves as an investment expert for client and consultant relations in the U.S. and globally.

NFL veteran Deon Figures (Soc’93) was inducted into the 2014 CU Athletic Hall of Fame. As a Buff, he was an All-American Defensive Player of the Year in 1992 and won the Jim Thorpe Award. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him as a first-round draft pick in the 1993 NFL draft.

Ivar Frithsen (MCDBio’95) joined Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, N.H., as a hospitalist. He previously worked in Keene, N.H., also as a hospitalist. He received master’s and medical degrees at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University. Ivar earned a master’s in clinical research from the Medical University of South Carolina where he also completed a fellowship in family medicine.

Steven Schwankert (MJour’95) has published a book, Poseidon: China’s Secret Salvage of Britain’s Lost Submarine, the story of a British submarine he discovered off of China’s coast. A certified scuba instructor, Steven founded SinoScuba in 2003. It is Beijing’s first professional diving operator.

Gnip, a social data company co-founded by Jay Valeski (CompSciAp’96), was acquired by Twitter, and is Twitter’s first Â鶹ӰԺ location. Jay also is a supporter of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado, a network of Colorado entrepreneurs who pledge to give funds back to the community.

Yvonne Wade (Soc’96), a two-time Olympian, was inducted into the 2014 Athletic Hall of Fame at CU. She competed for Japan in the 100-meter hurdles in 1996 and 2000. Yvonne is now head track coach at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
