Reserve Equipment

MAKING A RESERVATION

To reserve equipment, you must claim your account in Cheqroom. To do so, you must log into the website using the SSO option. You will be redirected to log in through your buffportal.Ìý

Once your account has been created, you will have base access. This means you'll have the ability to browse the inventory, and reserve studios/labs and basic film equipment. Higher level equipment will be unlocked once the Kage updates your account based on class enrollment.Ìý

The kage suggests logging into Cheqroom within the first week of classes.Ìý

The Kage updates your account information based on your class enrollment and does so within the first week of classes. However, if you have not logged in before that happens, there is no account for us to update. If this happens, please email the kage after logging into Cheqroom and provide a list of CINE classes you are currently enrolled in.Ìý

Making a Reservation

All equipment must be reserved 14 hours in advance from your pick up time. If a student is unable to do so, they will be redirected to walk-in hours, or will be advised to make another order for the following day.Ìý

To reserve equipment, please follow the video below:Ìý

The Kage is located in ATLAS 1B11. Please arrive on time for your order, or notify us if you will be late. If you are late by more than 1 hour, your order will automatically cancel and release equipment to be reserved by other students. Please be mindful of your peers and cancel your order in advance if you know you won't be needing it anymore.Ìý

Picking Up and Checking Over Your Equipment

When you arrive to pick up, a Kager will point out any issues/quirks about your equipment. They will confirm if any of this is a hinder to your set, and will do their best to accommodate any issues.Ìý

You equipment is checked and pulled prior to your arrival. ÌýHowever, things happen. The Kage is run almost entirely by students who are learning like everyone else. Please check your equipment before leaving campus and report any problems ASAP. This will allow the Kage to resolve any issues with your order, or at the very least have a record in the system so you're not charged extra fees when returning.Ìý

We do not expect students to be experts on what is in our kits. So we've provided a variety of resources for students to use when checking their equipment: Information Tabs in Cheqroom, Kit Photos and Order Summaries.Ìý

Cheqroom isn't just used for reservations. It is also how the Kage keeps track of the status of individual items. Each item in cheqroom has an Info tab, that will show everything the Kage has on record pertaining to that item. Below is an example for a BlackMagic Pocket 4k:Ìý

Cheqroom Info Tab Reference

Student will be able to see exactly what items are in each kit, as well as any items that are recorded as missing/damaged. If there kit does not match the description in Cheqroom, they should let the Kage know as soon as they can.Ìý

Most items will have Kit Photos. These are pictures students can reference to see what is in a kit and how the kit is organized. These photos can be found underneath the top foam of the case. This is a great reference if they're missing a particular item and are unsure what it's called. Below is an example for a Canon C200 Kit:Ìý

Order Summaries are PDFs attached to a student's order prior to their pick up. These documents act as confirmation of what is on their order, the state of each item on their order, and a notification to the student that their order's been priced out. While Order summaries do not show what is present in each kit, they do show what each kit is missing. Students can use this to check at a glance if they're run into any issues with the state of their gear, and make requests prior to their check out to make substitutions or adjustments.Ìý
