All studios and labs are used for class work and are avaliable putside of class for students. ONLY CURRENT STUDENTS AND FACULTY ARE PERMITTED TO USE LABS AND STUDIOS, Alumni by special request. To request access to the labs and studios, please visit the Kage in the ATLAS building.

310 Lab

The main digital Editting lab. Contains 24 workstations each with uodated with the full Adobe Creative Suite, Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve and more. Also contians Color Correction Suite and Audio Editting Suite.

STUDENTS, THE COMPUTERS ARE REIMAGED REGULARLY, DO NOT LEAVE PROJECTS ON THE DESKTOP.

Foundations Suite

Audio Mixing and Recording Suite

Cinema Studies audio recording studio. Equipped with 5.1 surround, (including sub) and workstation with updated industry standards audio editting and recording programs.

The Grey Box

Cinema Studies and Moving Image Arts Cinematography Studio aka - The Grey Box, in the basement of Macky Auditorium supports both production classes and student projects. Graduate students and Undergraduate students at the 3400 and 4500 level may request to reserve the cinematography studio for class related projects only.

Analog Lab and Media Preservation Center

Macky 1B09

Supports both Film and Media Preservation Courses and the special Analog based production courses and projects. Students must have class training to access this Facility. Graduate students may receive private training to gain access. Resources include: Inspection and rewind tables, Steinbeck Film viewers and editors, LaserGraphics Scan Station for archival 5K scanning, and more!

Animation Lab

The Animation lab has ten Dragon Frame based animation stands with LED lighting and a large screen for class viewings and for reviewing animation projects. Animation materials are available in the lab: Light boxes, peg bars for registration, Glass multi-plane frames, as well as art supplies to support many modes of animation production. Students gain access to the lab when enrolled in an animation class and can retain access to resources after taking the course in order to continue animation production in regards to other elective and cord production course projects.

Moving Image Arts Darkroom

The darkroom is a fully functioning darkroom and wet lab designed for the processing and printing of small gauge motion picture film. Outfitted with a 16mm Model J Contact Printer, Lomo Processing Tanks for the processing of Regular 8mm, Super 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm. The lab can support the processing of most film stocks and is outfitted with Black and White chemistry for Negative and Reversal processing and E6 Chemistry for the processing of Color Reversal film stocks.
