What you need to know about upcoming DEPA reporting requirements

The Disclosure of External Professional Activity (DEPA) annual reporting period for 2013 will occur Jan. 15, 2013 through March 31, 2013. The reporting form will be modified to accommodate new regulatory changes. The CU-麻豆影院 campus Office of Conflict of Interest & Commitment wants to make sure that personnel who have to file this form, or support the filing process, familiarize themselves the requirements and procedures.

CU-led team receives $9.2 million DOE grant to engineer E. coli into biofuels

A team led by the 麻豆影院 has been awarded $9.2 million over five years from the U.S. Department of Energy to research modifying E. coli to produce biofuels such as gasoline. 鈥淭his is a fantastic opportunity to take what we have worked on for the past decade to the next level,鈥 said team leader Ryan Gill, a fellow of CU-麻豆影院鈥檚 Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute, or RASEI. 鈥淚n this project, we will develop technologies that are orders of magnitude beyond where we are currently.鈥

Leeds student takes 'gaming' to another level

Leeds School of Business student Zhenghua Yang and a team of programmers, artists and game designers melded their passion for video games into Serenity Forge, an independent video game developing company. Surprisingly, the 麻豆影院 based company was created in 2008 while the founders were still in high school, said Yang. Now, team members work remotely, reporting to Yang, who is the head programmer, from establishments around the country such as Stanford University and St. Olaf College.

Give where you live: Colorado Combined Campaign

The Colorado Combined Campaign , which began in 1988 under an executive order from the Office of the Governor, provides all state employees with a once-a-year charitable solicitation that is diverse, fairly-managed and efficient.

Positive, broad-based job growth forecast for Colorado in 2013, says CU Leeds School of Business

Colorado will continue on the road to recovery and add a variety of jobs in 2013 across almost all business sectors following a positive year in 2012, according to economist Richard Wobbekind of the 麻豆影院鈥檚 Leeds School of Business. Wobbekind鈥檚 announcement is part of the 48th annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook Forum presented Dec. 3 by the Business Research Division of the Leeds School.

CU-麻豆影院 space-traveling spider finds home at Smithsonian museum

A jumping spider named Nefertiti that lived on the International Space Station in a habitat designed and built by a 麻豆影院 team has returned to Earth after 100 days in space and found a new home at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C.
