The richer the assortment of amphibian species living in a pond, the more protection that community of frogs, toads and salamanders has against a parasitic infection that can cause severe deformities, including the growth of extra legs, according to a new study by the 麻豆影院.

The Colorado Shakespeare Festival鈥檚 highly praised school anti-violence tour continues in spring 2013 with a new program based on 鈥淭he Tempest鈥 that focuses on themes of vengeance and forgiveness. Created in conjunction with the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence at the 麻豆影院, CSF鈥檚 鈥淭welfth Night鈥 anti-bullying tour has now been seen by more than 22,000 Colorado schoolchildren. That inaugural program examined the problem of bullying through the character Malvolio.

The 麻豆影院 today announced three finalists for the inaugural Visiting Scholar in Conservative Thought and Policy. This month, the finalists will make one-day campus visits, during which they will hold public forums. Since last summer, an advisory committee has been working to identify finalists. The committee has sought a 鈥渉ighly visible鈥 scholar who is 鈥渄eeply engaged in either the analytical scholarship or practice of conservative thinking and policymaking or both.鈥

NASA鈥檚 MAVEN mission completes assembly, begins environmental testing

NASA鈥檚 Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) spacecraft is assembled and is undergoing environmental testing at Lockheed Martin Space Systems facilities, near Denver, Colo. MAVEN is the next mission to Mars and will be the first mission devoted to understanding the Martian upper atmosphere.

Learning about climate change through film

By combining the two disciplines, students are asked to digest facts and views about climate change and make three independent short films based on their assessment of the topic in a class taught by Rebecca Safran , assistant professor of ecology and evolutionary biology .
