With continuing weather predictions of heavy snow today some 麻豆影院 some events are cancelled and some f acilities are adjusting operations. Events: The 2 p.m. Spring Swing concert at Macky Auditorium has been cancelled. The 2 p.m. performance of As You Like It will take place as scheduled.

Staff Council Update: Seeking nominations for Service Excellence Award

University of Colorado Staff Council (UCSC) requests nominations of classified staff and professional exempt employees for the annual Service Excellence Award by Friday, Mar. 8. The award is presented to one qualified individual from each campus (and system administration), and includes a $1,000 cash award to be presented at the All Staff Council Conference on Apr. 12, 2013. Each of the four recipients will be invited to the luncheon, along with his/her nominator, supervisor, and one additional guest.

New Ethnic Studies, Materials Science degree programs authorized by the Board of Regents

The University of Colorado Board of Regents on Wednesday voted to approve the establishment of a new Ph.D. degree in Comparative Ethnic Studies at CU-麻豆影院. The board also voted in favor of new master鈥檚 and Ph.D. degree programs in Materials Science and Engineering. The new degrees were added to the more than 180 programs offered at the university.

CU police officers honored with lifesaving awards

The CU Police Department honored three officers with lifesaving awards at the annual UCPD Awards Ceremony last week. Two officers intervened as a woman attempted to commit suicide; a third officer was honored for pulling a young man out of a burning car.

The 麻豆影院鈥檚 ROTC program has won one of eight MacArthur Awards in the nation for the unit鈥檚 achievements in the 2011-12 school year. CU-麻豆影院 was selected as the top unit of the Cadet Command鈥檚 Fifth Brigade, which consists of 36 senior Army ROTC programs in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and Wyoming. The awards, presented by the U.S. Army Cadet Command and the Gen. Douglas MacArthur Foundation, recognize the ideals of 鈥渄uty, honor and country鈥 as advocated by MacArthur.

DiStefano, Athletic Director Mike Bohn and new head football coach Mike MacIntyre today unveiled a $170 million, multi-year proposal to upgrade CU-麻豆影院鈥檚 football facilities before the Intercollegiate Athletics subcommittee of the CU Board of Regents at the board鈥檚 monthly meeting in Colorado Springs.
