麻豆影院 Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano, Athletic Director Mike Bohn and new head football coach Mike MacIntyre today unveiled a $170 million, multi-year proposal to upgrade CU-麻豆影院鈥檚 football facilities before the Intercollegiate Athletics subcommittee of the CU Board of Regents at the board鈥檚 monthly meeting in Colorado Springs.

麻豆影院 Provost Russell L. Moore today announced the four finalists selected for the position of dean of the College of Music. The finalists for the position are: Wayne Bailey, professor of conducting and instrumental ensembles, School of Music, Arizona State University; David Myers, director, School of Music, University of Minnesota; Jamal Rossi, executive associate dean, Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester; and John Schaffer, director emeritus, School of Music, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

That鈥檚 the kind of thing Dr. Brian Greene ponders not only in his day job as a scientist, but also as the foremost translator of the 鈥渨onderfully weird鈥 concepts of theoretical physics for millions of curious non-scientists. Greene, a New York Times best-selling author, is a physicist and co-creator and host of the four-part NOVA special, 鈥淭he Fabric of the Cosmos.鈥 He will be presenting the 48th George Gamow Memorial Lecture at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.

NBC News' Tom Costello to speak at CU Feb. 26

Students will have an exclusive opportunity to meet one of the country's most prolific broadcast journalists, Tom Costello (Jour'87), on Tuesday, Feb. 26, when he presents "Breaking the News with Tom Costello." A free reception with food will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by Costello's talk at 7 p.m. The event will be held in Eaton Humanities room 1B50.

Student HIV tester tries to make process less intimidating

As a student coordinator and HIV tester for Community Health , Tia Marks acknowledges that the experience of getting tested and talking about transmission of HIV can be tricky, difficult and unusual. Therefore, having trained, state certified peers test CU students makes the conversation about HIV and transmission much more relatable, she says. Student testers understand student life, and the state certification gives them the skills and knowledge to deliver a reliable test.

CableLabs executive joins CU-麻豆影院, launches research center on broadband technology and policy

Former CableLabs executive David Reed has joined the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program at the 麻豆影院 as a scholar in residence, the university announced today. In addition to teaching and conducting research with graduate students in ITP鈥檚 master's and Ph.D. programs, Reed will lead the development of a new research center to investigate the future of the newly forming broadband industry.

'Life in Color' paint party to be held in Balch Fieldhouse Feb. 16

Program Council, in partnership with Disco Donnie and Life In Color (formerly Dayglow), will bring the world鈥檚 largest paint party to Balch Fieldhouse on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 8 p.m. Borgore and Seven Lions will be joined by local producers, Basscrooks and TYR to blow the roof off of Balch, with some paint mixed in.
