Toku Kawata, a third-year piano performance doctor of musical arts candidate, spent a month in Paris this summer to research "En Vers" by Japanese composer and sometime Paris resident Akira Miyoshi. He shared his experience with CU-Â鶹ӰԺ's College of Music .

NSF awards $6.4 million for animal olfactory navigation research led by CU-Â鶹ӰԺ professor

An interdisciplinary research team led by a Â鶹ӰԺ professor has won a major funding award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to uncover the behavioral and neurological processes that govern the deeply embedded science of smell.

CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Alerts test Thursday, Sept. 24 at noon

The campus will conduct a test the CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Alerts system on Thursday, Sept. 24, at noon to raise awareness of how the campus community will be notified in case of a campus emergency. The test will include text messages, emails, social media and website announcements. Annual testing of emergency notification systems is required by the Clery Act, a federal law.

Dalai Lama tickets for faculty and staff to be available Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 9 a.m.

A limited number of general admission Dalai Lama tickets for current CU-Â鶹ӰԺ faculty and staff will be available for $20 apiece beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, for the Oct. 20 event . There is a limit of two tickets per faculty and staff member. One of those tickets can be for a guest not affiliated with the university.

CWA moving forward with new plan

The Conference on World Affairs today unveiled a new strategic plan. The plan establishes a new oversight board and governance structure , sets bold new goals for faculty, staff and student involvement, and seeks to create long-term financial stability by building a $5 million endowment over the next five years. The plan is the culmination of work by a Strategic Planning Committee that was convened in June. CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Today sat down with CWA faculty director John Griffin and Peter Spear, former dean of CU-Â鶹ӰԺ’s College of Arts & Sciences and chair of the CWA’s Strategic Planning Committee, to discuss the plan and what it means for the future of the Conference.
