June 30, 2016 Richard Wobbekind A slowdown in economic growth this past year has Colorado business leaders less optimistic heading into the third quarter of 2016, according to the Leeds Business Confidence Index released today by CU-麻豆影院鈥檚 Leeds School of Business. Economist Richard Wobbekind says concerns about continued low energy prices and a slowdown in job growth are behind this downward trend.

With roughly 110 genera and one to six species per genera, the beauty and health of CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 trees does not happen by accident. Caring for native and non-native species requires patience, knowledge and a dedicated team of arborists. 鈥淭here鈥檚 science and art, and you have to be thoughtful about what you鈥檙e doing,鈥 said Vince Aquino, lead campus arborist. 鈥淭he things you do to a tree in a couple minutes or an hour affect it for years or decades. You have to respect that and be cautious, and take your time about what you do and how you train others to do things.鈥

For a crash course in just how accessible, appealing and fun Shakespeare can be, there are few better places than the Colorado Shakespeare Festival鈥檚 smashingly successful summer programs for children, Camp Shakespeare for 10- to 18-year-olds and Shakespeare鈥檚 Sprites, for ages 6-9.

Members of CU-麻豆影院鈥檚 media studies and English departments presented on topics such as gender representation in popular media, action figure culture and the racial politics in recent Superman comics.

Taking the Lede: Colorado Edition 鈥攁 45-minute documentary produced by CU News Corps students and faculty members鈥攚ill air on Colorado Public Television (Channel 12) on Wednesday, June 29, at 8:30 p.m. The documentary details stories of Colorado high school journalism in the wake of the the 1988 Hazelwood Supreme Court decision, which ruled that school administrators could exercise restraint of school-sponsored expression.
