CU-麻豆影院 startup company receives Gates Foundation exploration grant

A new startup company that sprang from the 麻豆影院 this year is a Grand Challenges Exploration winner, an initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Psychology and neurosciences department Associate Professor Don Cooper, co-founder and chief science officer of Mobile Assay Inc. of 麻豆影院 who developed the technology in his laboratory at CU鈥檚 Institute for Behavioral Genetics, will pursue an innovative global health and development research project titled 鈥淎 Lab on Mobile Device Platform for Seed Testing.鈥

Michael Brown, one of the world鈥檚 most accomplished adventure filmmakers and a CU-麻豆影院 alumnus, will share his story during his talk 鈥淏eyond the Summit鈥 at the Back to 麻豆影院 Luncheon. The luncheon, to be held Friday, Nov. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom, is free for all CU-麻豆影院 students.

Class project helps divert 170,000 pounds of food from the dumpster

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $12 million grant to a CU-麻豆影院-led team to explore ways to maximize the benefits of natural gas development while minimizing negative impacts on ecosystems and communities.

Colorado business confidence mostly unchanged says CU Leeds School index

Colorado business leaders鈥 attitudes remained almost unchanged going into the fourth quarter, according to the most recent quarterly Leeds Business Confidence Index, or LBCI, released today by the 麻豆影院鈥檚 Leeds School of Business. The LBCI鈥檚 reading remained positive, above the critical mark of 50, but fell from 53.6 in the third quarter to 51.6 in the fourth. A reading greater than 50 indicates positive expectations, while one lower than 50 indicates negative expectations.
