More than 350 engineering students at the Â鶹ӰԺ will demonstrate their innovations and inventions to the community at the annual fall Engineering Design Expo on Saturday, Dec. 8.

A jumping spider named Nefertiti that lived on the International Space Station in a habitat designed and built by a Â鶹ӰԺ team has returned to Earth after 100 days in space and found a new home at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington D.C.

Following the recent Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission hearing on creation of statewide regulations for groundwater sampling and monitoring near new oil and gas wells, the Â鶹ӰԺ will host an informational workshop on Monday, Nov. 26, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Wolf Law Building.

The Â鶹ӰԺ Leeds School of Business will present its 48th annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook Forum on Monday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. at the Denver Marriott City Center. By Kathryn Quinn, Junior, Alternative Breaks Coordinator, Volunteer Resource Center In light of the recent hurricane that has taken its toll on the East Coast, the CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Volunteer Resource Center is hoping to step in as a voice to raise awareness about helping those impacted to get back on their feet.

The Â鶹ӰԺ enrolled more international students during the 2011-12 academic year and sent more students abroad during the 2010-11 academic year than any other higher education institution in Colorado. The data, released today by the Institute of International Education in its annual Open Doors Report, shows that CU-Â鶹ӰԺ was home to 1,681 international students during the 2011-12 school year. CU-Â鶹ӰԺ sent 1,316 students overseas during the 2010-11 school year.

The Â鶹ӰԺ will honor the nation’s veterans, including CU-Â鶹ӰԺ’s own faculty, staff and student veterans, through Veterans Week, beginning with a Nov. 9 Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. in the University Memorial Center’s Glenn Miller Ballroom. The free, public ceremony will feature guest speaker Michael Dakduk, executive director of the national organization Student Veterans of America. A reception will follow in the UMC Veterans Lounge.
