"Native American Languages in the West: A Prognosis for the Future" will be addressed by CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Associate Professor Andrew Cowell as part of the Chancellor's Community Lecture Series on Wednesday, April 2. The talk will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Chautauqua Community House at 900 Baseline Road in Â鶹ӰԺ and is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.

CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Bicycle Bash Featuring Buff Bus Biodiesel Set For April 2 At UMC

CU-Â鶹ӰԺ students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to dust off their bicycles and get ready to ride to the first CU Bicycle Bash Featuring Buff Bus Biodiesel on Wednesday, April 2. The CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Environmental Center and Parking and Transportation Services are sponsoring the bash from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the University Memorial Center's Dalton Trumbo Fountain Court. The bash will feature the unveiling of the new Buff Bus Biodiesel project, the University of Colorado Credit Union bike loan program and the CU Student Bike Rental Program.

CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Friends Of The Libraries Present "Artists' Books Revealed: Personal Lives And Wild Imaginations"

The University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ Friends of the Libraries will present "Artists' Books Revealed: Personal Lives and Wild Imaginations" on March 25. The event is free and open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. in the Center for British Studies on the fifth floor of Norlin Library at CU-Â鶹ӰԺ. Entrance to the library will be through the west doors. A preview exhibit of artists' books will be on display at 6 p.m. in Norlin's Special Collections Department. A reception will follow the program, which is part of the Friends' annual Treasures series.

CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Class of '03 Faces tight Job Market

Employer recruiting on college campuses continues to decline and jobs for new college graduates remain scarce, said job placement officials at the University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ. CU-Â鶹ӰԺ's career fairs and on-campus interviewing have slumped along with universities all over the country, said career services Director Gordon Gray. The number of employers interviewing on campus fell from 177 in the fall of 2000 to 92 in 2001. This past fall, it shrank to 82.

Impact Of Iraq Crisis On America's Foreign Relations Topic Of March 19 Lecture

A public lecture on "America At War: What Happens Next?" will be presented by Professor Roland Paris of the University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19. The lecture will cover the impact of the Iraq crisis on America's relations with the rest of the world. It will be free and will be held in room 142 of the Cristol Chemistry and Biochemistry Building on the CU-Â鶹ӰԺ campus.

Budding Primatologist Among Dean's List Honorees At CU-Â鶹ӰԺ

University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ student Julia Massey, one of the top students on the fall 2002 dean's list for the College of Arts and Sciences, is following her dream of becoming a primatologist, a dream inspired by an article she read on Jane Goodall when she was in seventh grade. Massey, who currently holds a 3.78 grade-point average, has been on the dean's list every semester since she started attending CU-Â鶹ӰԺ in 2001. Originally from Catonsville, Md., Massey chose CU-Â鶹ӰԺ to accomplish the first step in pursuing her career goals.

Global Glacier Recession Workshop At CU-Â鶹ӰԺ March 16 To March 18

Colorado Court Of Appeals To Hear Arguments And Answer Questions At CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Law School

The Colorado Court of Appeals will hear arguments in the Lindsley Memorial Courtroom at the University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ School of Law on Tuesday, March 18, from 2:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Lawyers and students are encouraged to attend the event because the presiding judges will take questions from the audience after oral arguments.

CU-Â鶹ӰԺ student Ryan Van Duzer will travel to the Dominican Republic to spend his spring break living and working in an orphanage. Van Duzer is traveling with 35 people from a group called Orphanage Outreach based in Scottsdale, Ariz., and will spend March 22-29 in Esperanza, Dominican Republic.
