Deadline to nominate alumni for Distinguished Engineering and Recent alumni awards

Iain Boyd, Alireza Doostan, Robyn MacDonald, David Marshall and Timothy Minton of Smead Aerospace (AmREC) received a five-year award for $15 million from NASA for “Advanced Computational Center for Entry System Simulation (ACCESS).”

Jeff Forbes and Xiaoli Zhang of Smead Aerospace and Xiaohua Fang of LASP received a three-year award for $533,000 from NASA for “The Wave Origins of Longitudinal Structures in MAVEN Thermosphere Densities.”

Eric Frew, Brian Argrow and Zachary Sunberg of Smead Aerospace (RECUV) received a three-year award for $1.05 million from the National Science Foundation for “Collaborative Research: NRI: Dispersed Autonomy for Marsupial Aerial Robot Teams.”

Kevin Gifford and Mark Lofquist of computer science received a two-year award for $1.45 million from the National Science Foundation for “Hat Creek Radio Observatory National Radio Dynamic Zone Prototype.”
