CEAS Hybrid Work Policy

What is the difference between transition date and implementation date?

The CEAS summer hybrid work policy ended on July 31. The transition to the new Hybrid Work Policy began Aug. 1 and should be in place for all employees by Aug.聽22 (final implementation date).

Why are all student and/or public facing offices required to have continuous in-person presence during campus operating hours?

The campus鈥檚 Standards of Practice are intended to meet the needs of our students and to accomplish the university鈥檚 academic mission. The Standards of Practice for all staff on the CU 麻豆影院 campus are the following:

  • Units providing support services to public-facing offices must have an in-person presence to meet the needs during CU 麻豆影院 operating hours.聽
  • Non-public facing offices may work in hybrid or remote formats as long as business needs are met during the hours of operation.
  • Fully remote positions need to be reviewed and approved by the university officer who is the division or department head. In CEAS, all fully hybrid remote positions must be approved by the supervisor, the unit lead, CEAS HR and the assistant dean of administration.
If I have been approved for a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement, why am I being asked to share an office or use a hoteling space?

To comply with the Office of Space Optimization鈥檚 campus space guidelines and to ensure efficient space use within the college, all staff (regardless of title) working a hybrid work modality could be asked to share an office,聽and all faculty and staff working a fully remote modality could be asked to work in a hoteling office or station when on campus.

Campus Modality Tracker & Work Agreement Form

What is meant by 鈥淚s space modified for hybrid/remote work?鈥 in the campus modality tracker?

This is referring to any construction or modification that might have been done to the space, such as聽knocking聽down a wall to create a larger hoteling office, adding desks to create a shared workstation office, etc.

The Work Agreement Form does not have a drop down for faculty despite research faculty and faculty approved for remote work being included in the requirement. Is it really meant for faculty?

The flaw in the online form has been reported Campus HR. Please select 鈥渙ther鈥 if none of the fields are applicable.聽The Work Agreement Form is for all staff, all researchers, and only faculty who are 100% remote. No other faculty need to complete the Work Agreement Form.聽聽

For clarification, the separate Work Modality Tracker needs to be completed by聽all聽personnel in a unit, which does include faculty.聽

The campus modality tracker asks for more specific work plans (i.e. number of hours on campus and remote each day) than the college requires. Do we need to complete this?

While the college has requested on campus and remote days every semester for staff since fall 2021, we have not required detailed info down to the hours level. Please complete this campus requirement as best you can for all employees.

How should the questions regarding necessary considerations and changes to meet objectives and assessing productivity be approached? Is there a standard response that can be used?

Supervisors are encouraged to have these conversations directly with your personnel and complete as applicable. The college does not have standard language, but if a unit wants to create standard language you are welcome to do so.聽

I鈥檓 having issues with the online Work Agreement Form. Whom do I contact?

Please contact聽ceashr@colorado.edu. CEAS HR聽will initiate an email with the Campus HR developer for further support.
