Student Art Contest

In an effort to 鈥渟pread the word鈥 about the ongoing role that public lands play in our lives to Colorado鈥檚 young people, the BLM Colorado sponsored and hosted a juried art competition for high school students throughout the state. Entrants created an original piece of art that reflected some aspect of their relationship to public lands and composed an artist鈥檚 statement to accompany their work that articulated the connection between the piece and the conference themes. We received numerous excellent contributions, and herein you find the winners and honorable mentions. We thank the BLM, the PLF, and the staff at the Center of the American West who all participated in the judging of this competition, but most of all we thank the entrants for their fine work.
