CU-麻豆影院 University Libraries to host exhibit and events on 100th anniversary of Rocky Mountain National Park

University Libraries at the 麻豆影院 is hosting an exhibit and multiple events to honor the 100th anniversary of Rocky Mountain National Park. The Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences & Map Library is featuring a new exhibit, 鈥淓xpressions of Rocky Mountain National Park: A Centennial Celebration,鈥 featuring a selection of art, maps, and companion writings and objects showcasing the park鈥檚 natural wonders and 100-year history. It will be on display through Aug. 13.

Join CU Late Night for the first annual CU's Got Talent show on Friday, Feb. 27, at 8 p.m. in Old Main. The event will feature student performers including hip hop artists, Indian classical dancers, acoustic and percussive guitar players, a banjo player and powerful vocalists that you won't want to miss. The event is free and open to the public.

Strehle-Henson appointed interim managing associate university counsel

麻豆影院 Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano has appointed Elvira 鈥淓lvie鈥 Strehle-Henson as interim managing associate university counsel for the CU-麻豆影院 campus. Strehle-Henson replaces Charles 鈥淐harlie鈥 Sweet, who will be serving as vice chancellor for strategic initiatives at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.

Moses named fellow of the American Educational Research Association

CU-麻豆影院 School of Education Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Professor Michele Moses is among 23 top scholars named in today鈥檚 release of the American Educational Research Association 鈥檚 (AERA) 2015 fellows. In an organization of over 25,000 members, the new scholars join only 579 current and emeritus fellows previously recognized for their leading contributions within and beyond their fields of research.

Finkelstein named Faculty Advisor to OIT

Noah Finkelstein, professor of Physics, has accepted a new position as a faculty advisor for the Office of Information Technology. This position will allow Finkelstein to engage in longer-term dialogs and projects with OIT. Finkelstein will help shape OIT鈥檚 strategic direction as it relates to supporting teaching with technology, academic technology tools, and classroom and academic spaces.

CU-麻豆影院 technology could make treatment and reuse of oil and gas wastewater simpler, cheaper

Oil and gas operations in the United States produce about 21 billion barrels of wastewater per year. The saltiness of the water and the organic contaminants it contains have traditionally made treatment difficult and expensive. Engineers at the 麻豆影院 have invented a simpler process that can simultaneously remove both salts and organic contaminants from the wastewater, all while producing additional energy.
