鈥楽chools of Opportunity鈥 project announces first honorees, including seven Colorado high schools

The National Education Policy Center (NEPC) at the 麻豆影院 announced today that 17 high schools in New York and Colorado are the first to receive the 鈥淪chool of Opportunity鈥 designation. These outstanding schools demonstrated a range of practices that ensured that all students had rich opportunities to succeed. All put students, not test scores, first.

Fourteen 麻豆影院 students had a wildly successful evening Tuesday in New York City, winning six awards in a top international advertising contest, the most collected by any public U.S. university at the event.

CU Dialogues: It's On Us - What does 'it' mean?

Everybody knows about sexual assault, but how do we talk about it? And how do we move from awareness to action? The CU Dialogues Program recently facilitated a series of two dialogues with a group of 23 Residential Academic Program students in Farrand Hall. The series, entitled "'It鈥檚 On Us'-What Does 'It' Mean?" provided students with an opportunity to dig into the issue of sexual assault. As one participant pointed out, sexual assault is something that students often think about but don鈥檛 often talk openly about. On anonymous post-dialogue feedback forms, many students described the dialogue as 鈥渆ye-opening.鈥

On behalf of the entire CU-麻豆影院 community, I would like to extend my condolences to the students, faculty, staff and other members of our community who have been personally affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25. Last week, a group of students launched the 鈥 CU Stands with Nepal 鈥 campaign , with the mission of unifying the community to raise funds and sustain the dialogue about Nepal.

Naval pilot earns soaring praise for honors鈥 research

Before Courtnie Paschall touched down at the 麻豆影院, she鈥檇 graduated from the Naval Academy (鈥08), attained the rank of lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and undergone years of flight training. Paschall graduates on May 9 with a degree in neuroscience and a minor in electrical engineering. She earned the distinction of graduating summa cum laude and was named the Outstanding Graduate for the College of Arts and Sciences for spring 2015.
