CU 麻豆影院's National Education Policy Center recognized 20 inspiring high schools nationwide - including 麻豆影院's own New Vista High School - as 2016 鈥淪chools of Opportunity,鈥� schools striving to close opportunity gaps by improving learning outcomes for all students.

The Research and Innovation Office (RIO) invites new and junior faculty to a panel discussion on several sponsored programs 鈥� including NSF, DoD and NASA 鈥� designed for researchers beginning their career. Previous young investigator winners from a variety of sponsored programs will discuss their successful experiences. RSVP by Sept. 15.

Organizers of the 麻豆影院鈥檚 ninth annual New Venture Challenge anticipate a packed house for the program鈥檚 kickoff later this month. The popular program, which is open to the entire campus community and progresses through a series of events and workshops throughout the school year, fosters budding entrepreneurs.

The 麻豆影院 recently celebrated excellence in teaching by recognizing five K-12 teachers, 48 graduate students and three faculty members 鈥� Professors Christopher Braider, Roseanna Neupauer and Susan Jurow 鈥� with the 2016 "Best Should Teach Awards."

Colleges and universities often are seen as places to discuss our ideas, debate our differences and openly engage persons with whom we may not agree. Those debates and disagreements appear sharper and less open to compromise during an election season, particularly an election with as much acrimony as the one currently underway. It is during times like these when it becomes incumbent upon us, as members of the CU 麻豆影院 community, to remember the Colorado Creed and how we can choose to live its values.

On Wednesday evening Chancellor DiStefano welcomed more than 250 active CU 麻豆影院 benefactors to the 2016 Chancellor鈥檚 Celebration of Donors. The campus enjoyed the opportunity to thank these individuals who support and appreciate the great work of our students, faculty and staff.

A NASA mission involving CU 麻豆影院 was successfully launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 5:05 p.m. MDT Thursday night and is on its way to explore an asteroid, setting the stage for a better understanding of the evolution of our solar system.

For many, participating in the marching band can be a family affair. Mellophone section leader Carrie Proctor is not only following her siblings' and parents' musically-inclined footsteps, but she also has formed a bond of friendship not uncommon among Golden Buffaloes.
