"Western Air: Progress and Challenges in Protecting Human Health and Scenic Vistas," will be addressed by two University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ faculty members Nov. 6 as part of the Chancellor's Community Lecture Series. The talk by Michael Hannigan and Jana Milford of the mechanical engineering department will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Chautauqua Community House at 900 Baseline Road in Â鶹ӰԺ. The talk is free and open to the public and no reservations are required.

'Diet For A Small Planet' Author To Speak At CU-Â鶹ӰԺ Nov. 6

In 1971, Frances Moore Lappé's book "Diet for a Small Planet" introduced many Americans to the possibility of eating a balanced, healthy diet excluding meat. Lappé and her daughter Anna will give a public talk at CU-Â鶹ӰԺ on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. in the University Memorial Center's Glenn Miller Ballroom. They will talk about "Hope's Edge: The Next Diet for a Small Planet," a book written by the Lappés that was published in February 2002.

Multimedia Exhibit Reopens CU-Â鶹ӰԺ's UMC Art Gallery

For the first time in two years, the art gallery at the renovated University Memorial Center on the University of Colorado at Â鶹ӰԺ campus will host a new public exhibit starting Nov. 1. "Return to the Free Zone," a show organized by chemistry doctoral student and artist Tanya Plotnick Vega, will debut from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., along with a free catered reception and live music. The gallery is located next to the UMC's second floor reception desk. Both graduate and undergraduate artists will contribute multimedia works for the five-week exhibit.
