Come hear different female student perspectives from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman听and UAE on culture, life here in the U.S. and life back home, plus get a chance to ask your own questions.听Pizza & Perspectives is a monthly lunchtime gathering featuring a panel of students from a specific region and, of course, free pizza!

Talk by best-selling author Beverly Tatum

Beverly Daniel Tatum, author of the best-selling book Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?听will be on campus as a featured speaker at the CU system Diversity and Inclusion Summit hosted at the University Memorial Center听from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day听Nov. 13 and 14.

The Cultural Events Board is proud to host Kevin Hines,听a best-selling author, documentary filmmaker and suicide prevention and mental health advocate who has reached millions with his inspiring personal story of unlikely survival. This event is free and open to the public.

Put on your poker face and play in a free Texas Hold鈥檈m poker tournament in The Connection! Students at all skill levels are welcome, and there are prizes for the winners. Sign up at 6 p.m.

GIS Day Celebration

听11 a.m. to 2 p.m.听Koenig Alumni Center
Stop by the Alumni Center听for a听free lunch from听The Sink and听Insomnia Cookies, open to all CU students. If you鈥檙e a Herd member, make sure to have your Herd app downloaded for听giveaways. This month's guest speaker听is Lego artist听Imagine Rigney.

1鈥5:45 p.m. Wittemyer Courtroom
This conference pulls together leaders in government, industry听and academia to discuss听the challenge of how to regulate data, now considered听the world鈥檚 most valuable resource. Privacy and cybersecurity, as well as the content industry, will be discussed. The conference is free for听CU 麻豆影院 students.


Thursday, Nov. 15

听8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.听Wittemyer Courtroom
See top CU 麻豆影院 technology ventures at the very first Lab Venture Challenge! Presented by the Tech Transfer Office, the Lab Venture Challenge will showcase research scientists and their innovations, as they compete for proof of concept and business development funding.


Friday, Nov. 16

7鈥11 p.m.听 Glenn Miller Ballroom
Join the Middle Eastern Student Association for their biggest event: Middle East Night. It will feature a Middle Eastern fashion show (includes both male and female), Hamsa Dane, belly dance, hip-hop dance and free food. Bring your friends and family; the event is free and open to the public.
