The Pacific-12 Conference and its television partners released arrangements for the first three weeks of the 2014 season for all games covered by their contracts, and the University of Colorado鈥檚 two in-state games against Colorado State and Arizona State both will receive maximum exposure.
The season opener against Colorado State, also billed as the听Rocky Mountain Showdown, will be televised on Fox Sports 1 (FS1) and will kickoff shortly after 7 p.m. mountain time on Friday, Aug. 29, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver. It will be the 14th time the two rivals will duel in Colorado鈥檚 capital city, all since 1998, and the 20th straight year one of the nation鈥檚 most underrated rivalries will be televised on a national or regional basis.

The Buffaloes will then travel to Foxboro, Mass., to take on the University of Massachusetts the following Saturday (Sept. 6); the details for that game are not finalized yet but are expected to be within a week or so.

CU returns home for its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 13, which also will serve as the 2014 Pac-12 Conference opener when the Arizona State Sun Devils visit 麻豆影院. That game, the earliest conference game date-wise in Colorado history, will be televised nationally on ESPNU and will have a starting time of 8 p.m.

鈥淲e are pleased with these two games being selected for broadcast on FS1 and ESPNU,鈥 CU Athletic Director听Rick George听said. 鈥淭he 7 p.m. kickoff time for the CSU game is perfect heading into Labor Day weekend, many people leave work early that Friday and can head down early to the stadium and tailgate or pop over to the Taste of Colorado and then head over to the game.听 As for Arizona State, we do understand that 8 p.m. is a little later than we鈥檇 normally like for a home game, but that time of the year the temperature in the evening averages in the low 60s, so it should be perfect football weather for our home and conference opener."

Starting with games the fourth weekend of the season, by contractual agreement with the conference鈥檚 television partners (ESPN/ABC, FOX/FS 1 and the Pac-12 Networks), games will be selected on a 12-day notification beginning Sept. 8 for games on Sept. 20; up to a maximum three times a year, ESPN/ABC and FOX can delay those selections to six days.
