During the 2022 Colorado Academy of Audiology Conference in Beaver Creek听two of our faculty members were recognized for their dedication and devotion to the field and study of audiology. Dr.听Kathy Arehart (pictured left)听a professor in our SLHS department听was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award which recognizes听individuals who dedicate their careers to the field of audiology resulting in a positive impact on their professional colleagues. Dr. Hannah Glick (pictured right), an assistant teaching professor in SLHS, was awarded the R. Steven Ackley Educator Award. The R. Steven Ackley Educators Award is given in memory of Dr. Ackley, an audiology professor remembered for the ways in which he fostered student-centered teaching practices,听high expectations, humor, humanitarian ideals, and life-long learning into听the classroom.听The award is given听to an outstanding professor in the field of Audiology that exemplifies Dr. Ackley's student-centered approach to teaching and mentoring the next generation of clinicians and scientists.听
