Exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction (EILO) is a pattern of glottic and/or supraglottic closure that restricts an individual鈥檚 ability to breathe comfortably in response to exercise. Speech-language pathologists use various treatment approaches such as respiratory retraining and relaxation techniques to guide patients through symptom control and prevention. In this lecture, SLPs that specialize in the treatment of this condition will discuss treatment approaches as well as the future direction of research and treatment.
