We're excited to welcome our Strand 1 researcher聽James Pustejovsky as Strand 1鈥檚 new co-lead, effective May 1. A TJX Feldberg Professor of Computer Science at Brandeis University, James brings to his newly expanded role at iSAT expertise in theoretical and computational modeling of language. He worked closely with Ross as a member of the multi-modal working group, leading projects such as a Behavioral Markup Language tool to help annotate video in a way that captures both verbal and non-verbal communicative acts. He will also lead the effort to roll out the Fibonacci Weights group modeling collaborative tasks at Brandeis. And as a member of ISAT鈥檚 Executive Committee, James brought creative ideas to help improve cross-strand communications, including the iSAT Podcast.
