Become an IM Sports Official

The Rec Center's Intramural Program hires nearly 175 students each year to fill positions as sports officials, supervisors聽and coordinators. Training sessions are held in the weeks prior to the beginning of each session.

Intramural Official

The mission of Recreation Services (RS) is to promote overall student wellness. We accomplish our mission by providing organized and informal programs designed to engage the body and mind for the purposes of fun, fitness, social interaction, competition, skill acquisition, and adventure.

  • Learn all rules and mechanics of selected sport
  • Conduct all games in a fun, fair, and safe environment
  • Keep open communication with participants before, during, and after each game
  • Handle any conflicts that may arise with participants
  • Learn and enforce all sport rules
  • Attend required staff trainings and meetings
  • Perform other work and duties as assigned

  • Must be currently enrolled as a student at University of Colorado taking at least 6 credits
  • High degree of initiative
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work without continuous direct supervision
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends; as well as special event shifts as needed

Intramural Officials start at a pay rate of $16.50/hour.
