- The Quantum Scholars Program has received a big boost in the form of a matching gift from SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. SPIE has committed to matching $100,000 in external gifts to the program over the next two academic years.

- CU Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº alumnus Tom Baur was recently named a Fellow of SPIE, the International Society for Optics and Photonics. Tom is among a number of leading scientists named SPIE Fellows in 2024.
- The CU Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Society of Physics Students chapter was awarded a 2022-2023 Distinguished Chapter Award from the National Society of Physics Students organization. The award recognizes chapters for efforts including outreach, participation in community service, social events, interactions with alumni, and involvement in SPS programs.
- A new advancement in theoretical physics could, one day, help engineers develop new kinds of computer chips that might store information for long periods of time in very small objects.
- Renovations to the Physics Help Room were recently completed providing a revamped space for students to work together, study and get help with physics courses.
