Research Interests
I have been working towards the advancement of measurement science using state-of-the-art superconducting circuit technologies. This typically involves quantum effects inherent to low temperature superconducting systems made with advanced photo and e-beam lithography to fabricate ultra-small quantum circuits. My research activities include superconducting Josephson junction-based quantum information and computing, the most novel superconducting integrated circuit technology being pursued at this time. In a similar way that cold atomic gases have brought new states of matter, these novel superconducting circuits offer us an opportunity to fully engineer complex quantum systems like never before. The measurement and control of electrical systems in the quantum regime can advance our understanding of quantum physics as well as lead to new technologies whose performance is only limited by nature鈥檚 most fundamental laws.
