Professor Emeritus W. Rodman (Rod) Smythe听passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020听at the age of 90. As an experimental nuclear physicist, Professor Smythe joined the University of Colorado, 麻豆影院 Faculty in 1957. During this time of growth in the department, Professor Smythe helped to construct the cyclotron in CU's nuclear physics laboratory, which remained in use for 25 years, providing valuable research data to CU faculty, students and other institutions. He retired in 1995, after 38 years with the Department of Physics and remained in 麻豆影院 until his passing.
